Call for Demos

A new Demo experience

The 9th EAI International Conference: ArtsIT, Interactivity & Game Creation, ArtsIT 2020 in Aalborg invites demo proposals that address innovative and important topics related to the ArtsIT, Interactivity & Game Creation.

ArtsIT cordially welcomes proposals for “show-and-tell” demonstration sessions (demos) to demonstrate research prototypes and decentralized applications. Demo sessions have been proven to serve both as a natural platform for researchers from academia and industry to demonstrate their ground-breaking prototypes, elucidate innovative solutions, or as a wider discussion forum. As a high-profile, leading-edge forum for researchers and artists in the field the ArtsIT conference offers a unique opportunity to showcase applications, engage with a highly skilled and innovating audience and discuss emerging technologies and recent research prototypes with key thought leaders.

The ArtsIT organizers encourage presentations of demos related to any of the technical areas within the merit of the research area, as summarized at the conference’s CFP.

Share your innovation idea, get instant feedback from an expert audience, and transform your research project into a business idea, showcasing your demo to an audience beyond the conference!

In order to be considered for on-site demonstration at ArtsIT, a PDF containing an abstract describing the Demo should be submitted via Confy, in accordance with [PUBLISHER] guidelines (see Author’s Kit section) and a 2000 character limit. Figures and tables may be included if needed, not subject to the character limit.

Submission Guidelines for Demos

Prospective contributors are expected to turn in a demo proposal in the form of a 2-page paper in conference format preferably incorporating a demo system architecture illustration. Demo papers will be peer-reviewed and accepted papers will be included in the electronic conference proceedings. Demo papers should be submitted to the conference demo chair by September 11, 2020. The demo proposals will be reviewed by the demo program committee and will be approved based on the availability of demo space as well as on the following criteria:

  • Extent and significance of the research contribution,
  • Potential impact on the audience,
  • Quality of the proposed implementation,
  • Presentation quality.

At least one author of each accepted demo proposal is required to register for ArtsIT at the full conference rate and present their demo at the scheduled demo session.

Demo setup

A successful demo proposal will be allocated space in a selected central reception/exhibition area and will run in parallel to the standard technical sessions.

The demo presenters will have at their disposal: a table, a board for a poster/banner, and an electrical power connection. It is the responsibility of the presenters to cater for any other equipment, shipping and delivery costs, and care of their exhibit items during the conference.

As a demonstrator, you will need to register for ArtsIT, in order to be given a demonstrator’s kit. Once at the conference site, please liaise with the local organizers regarding any practical issue, including set-up times and layout of your demonstration space.
